Release 2.07 June 2008
NOTE to users of ClipGuru™2.07
This version update includes a change to accomodate User Access Control for users of Windows Vista. Vista places data files in different locations than previous versions of Windows. If you have run previous versions of ClipGuru under Vista, your files may have been placed in a 'virtualstore' location (a kind of Vista sandbox). This version attempts to locate those files and move them to a more 'normal' location, compatable with Vista conventions, and future versions of ClipGuru.
If you receive a message that the virtual files were not found, and ClipGuru opens with an 'empty' data repository (when you should have stored clips in the repository), download the previous version of ClipGuru and run it instead. PLEASE let us know of your experience so we can attempt to handle all cases. This new version does handle every condition we could create in our test labs, but there may be a condition we haven't encountered.

Upgrading to a new version

To upgrade you must first terminate ClipGuru if it is running. You may do so by choosing "Exit" from the "File" menu at the top of the ClipGuru main window or by right-clicking the tray icon and selecting 'Exit ClipGuru' from the right-click menu.

If you have previously installed ClipGuru™ from the automated Setup Program and wish to upgrade to a more recent version you need only download the clipguru.exe and replace the existing clipguru.exe with the new version. ClipGuru will need to be shut down in order to replace the ClipGuru.exe file.

Running Vista and need to access a prior 'virtualized' data location? The previous version 2 executable is available. Download the ClipGuru.exe executable to your ClipGuru folder and run it. Note: If you 'revert' to the prior version, please let us know why.

Quick reference

When the program is started it will place a small ClipGuru icon in the Windows tray at the far right of your Windows Status bar, normally located at the bottom of your screen. You control the program by clicking on the icon in the tray. Hitting the "Close" or "X" in the window will remove the ClipGuru main window but leave the program running and the tray icon present. If you wish to exit the program entirely you must specifically do so using the "File" menu at the top of the ClipGuru main window or by right-clicking the tray icon and selecting 'Exit ClipGuru' from the right-click menu.

ClipGuru™ is developed and maintained under Windows XP and Vista but should function under all Windows versions since Windows 2000.
